Polyfin 3016 FPO Geomembrane

Definition
Polyfin 3016 is a glass fleece reinforced FPO ( Flexible Polyolefin ) geomembrane with very high ageing resistance

Areas of Application
Polyfin 3016 is used for the water proofing of industrial metal flat roofs, concrete flat roofs, terrace and green roofs, ponds, , water storage units, foundations and walls

Advantages

  • Unlike the traditional bitumen membrane system, applied in single layers
  • Environmental friendly (PVC, plasticizer and chlorine free, no toxic gas during application) ; meets LEED Criteria
  • High tensile, tear and puncture resistance
  • Preserves dimensional stability under heat changes
  • Root resistant
  • Minimum risk at application due to the usage of automatic hot welding machines
  • Resistant to sparks
  • Resistant to various acids, alkalis and sea water
  • Loose laying and double seam welding system provides the seams to be tested with pressure
  • Resistant to cigarette burns
  • Resistant to hydrolysis
  • Application possibility in all weather conditions
  • The existing geomembrane can be welded homogeneously with the new geomembrane
  • Highly resistant to solar radiation, UV lights and ozone
  • XPS, EPS and bitumen compatible, no need for seperation layers, can be in direct contact
  • Highly resistant to ageing, does not loose any properties by the ecomomic life time of the structure
  • Can be applied directly on any existing bitumen membrane system
  • Polyfin FPO Geomembranes have an international product insurance of up to 20 years

Special Conditions Requiring Attention

  • Polyfin 3016 must be applied by experienced and licenced applicators
  • Drainage and gully system must be working properly
  • The welding temperature of the automatic hot welding machine must be arranged correctly
  • The double welded seams must be tested by pressure using a manometer. 2 bar pressure must be given to the seam by 2 minutes and no pressure lost must be observed from the manometer
  • The mechanical fasteneres must be resistant against corrosion
  • The mechanical fasteners must be applied on the same axe and a min 5 cm overlapping must be aligned for the welding of the rolls
  • After all the tests are performed, each section of application must be handed over to the control engineer of the client
  • The handed over sections must be protected by the client and the necessary hints must be given accordingly
  • The fixings must be done properly; for roofs - fixings must be on the parapets

Certificates
Polyfin AG is a CE and ISO certified producer.
Polyfin 3016 FPO Geomembrane is produced according to the DIN EN 13956 and DIN EN 13967 norms. It is an environmentally friendly material meeting the LEED criteria

Accessories
Polyfin 3016 system has special FPO accessories. These are internal/external corners, roof ventilators, roof outlets, water outlets, sealing sleeves, vantilation pipes, metal sheets, etc. These accessories are connected to the FPO geomembrane system using hand welding tools. This way the continuity of the waterproofing system is protected

Storage
Can be stored both vertical and horizontal

Shelf Life
The shelf life of the material is indefinite

Amount of Material Required
When doing the initial calculations for the amount of material required in a project, it is suggested to add 5% for the seam losses and 2-5% for the possible wastage according to the site conditions
